How to troubleshoot a Set Up Fail: Inconsistent End Stops error (D-Series)

Idea

Possible Causes:

·       Mechanical end stops are not securely installed, allowing movement during operation.

·       Incorrect or poor meshing between the rack and pinion, such as:

-  Excessive gap (greater than ±3 mm).

-  Weight of gate on Pinion  Gap(less than ±3 mm).

-  Worn or missing teeth on the rack.

·     Faulty or incorrectly connected DOSS (Digital Origin Seeking System) sensor.

·       External obstructions such as an electric fence wire or bracket making contact with the gate, preventing it from reaching the fully closed position.

Info

Recommended Solutions:

·     Verify that both mechanical end stops are firmly fitted and cannot shift under force.

·       Inspect the rack and pinion alignment:

-  Maintain an even gap of approximately 3 mm along the full length of the rack.

-  Check for worn, damaged, or missing rack teeth and replace where necessary.

·       Test the DOSS sensor for correct functionality. Replace the sensor if faulty.

·       Check the gate path for physical obstructions:

-  Ensure no electric fence wires, brackets, or other objects prevent the gate from closing fully.

·      For improved reliability, fit the closing end stop approximately 100 mm before the fully closed position and then perform the full setup procedure.
