VX Controller vs. V-Series Controller

VX Controller vs. V-Series Controller

The advantages of using a VX controller over a V-Series controller:

1. Programming Flexibility: Settings on the VX controller can be easily programmed using a dedicated app, offering convenience and ease of customization.
2. External Gate Status Configuration: The VX controller allows for the configuration of the external gate status, providing more control options. In contrast, the V-Series controller does not offer this feature.
3. IO Configuration: VX controllers offer versatility with their IOs, which can be configured as either input or output based on specific requirements. V-Series controllers, on the other hand, have fixed IOs that cannot be reconfigured.
4. IO Sink Current Ratings (maximum accessory current draw) : For the VX controller, IO1 to IO4 have a maximum accessory current draw (IO sink current) rating of 100mA at 12/24V. For IO5 to IO6, it supports a 3A (12/24V) 10-second pulse. This provides flexibility in accommodating different accessories.
5. App Operation: The VX controller can also be operated using the MyCentsysRemote app, enhancing user accessibility and control options.

Retrofitting a VX controller

▪ The wiring of the swing gate motor on a VX controller is still the same as on a VX controller.
▪ The bracket for the VX controller is different compared to the V-series controller:

▪ VX controller mounting bracket:

Both the V-series and VX controllers share the same configuration for the placement of the power supply, battery, and rocket switch. These components are positioned in a consistent manner for both controller types.

Notably, the VX controller offers a substantial advantage in terms of remote programming capacity. It has the capability to program up to 1500 remotes, which is equivalent to 6000 NOVA buttons (1500 remotes with 4 buttons each). In contrast, the V-series controller can only accommodate a maximum of 64 buttons (equivalent to 16 4-button NOVA remotes). This vast difference in remote capacity sets the VX controller apart in terms of versatility and the number of remotes it can handle.

In the event that swing gate motors are encountering intermittent maximum collisions, the following steps should be taken for troubleshooting:

Dimension Check: Begin by assessing the gate's dimensions to ensure they align with the intended specifications.

Ramp and Collision Sensitivity Adjustment: If collision issues persist, consider making adjustments to the gate's ramps and collision sensitivity settings. This can help fine-tune the gate's behavior to minimize unintended collisions.

Cable Inspection: If the above steps do not resolve the problem, inspect the cables running underground. Verify the continuity of all wires to ensure there are no connectivity issues that might be contributing to the collision problem. Addressing cable-related problems may help resolve the intermittent maximum collision issues with the swing gate motors
