Drive Fault - Motor Drive Failure (D-Series)

Drive Fault - Motor Drive Failure (D-Series)

How to troubleshoot a drive fault failure on your D5 EVO, D10 or D10 Turbo Centurion Systems gate motor

The error "Drive Fault - Motor Drive Failure" on your D5 EVO, D10 and D10 Turbo controller can be caused by:

• Intermittent or loose connection between motor and controller
• The H-bridge on the controller is damaged, possibly a blown FET
• The electric motor is faulty or has been disconnected

In order to resolve the above error please try the following:

• Check that the MOTOR, FUSE and DRIVE cells are all ticked in the information screen. An ‘x’, question mark or anything other than a tick indicates a fault. In the case of a damaged H-bridge, the display will typically indicate the part of the bridge that is damaged (i.e. Q1Q3, Q2Q4, etc.).
• Ensure that the electric motor terminals are connected to the controller
• Check the function of the electric motor by referring to the information screen described earlier, or test the motor by connecting the motor terminals straight onto the battery. If the motor does not run, the electronic motor is most probably faulty

Conclusion: If none of the above solutions worked and  in the event of a Drive Fault, you will need to take the controller in for repairs at an authorized Centurion systems repair centre. It is recommended that you bring the entire motor and controller in for full inspection.
