Low Power - SDO4 Smart

Low Power - SDO4 Smart

Unable to Set Limits – Low Power Supply (SDO4 Smart)

Summary

Notes
This error occurs when the operator detects insufficient power during a system health check, preventing the limit setup process. The most common cause is low or unstable battery voltage, although charging or power supply faults may also contribute.
Symptoms
Warning
“Unable to set Limits” error displayed
Message indicates: Low Power Supply
Operator refuses to enter or complete limit setup

Possible Causes
Alert

Batteries not fully charged (new installations)

Degraded or aged batteries (older than 12 months)

No or insufficient charging voltage from PSU

Faulty controller or PSU

Loose or disconnected battery terminals

Corrosion on battery leads

No or unstable 220V AC supply

Troubleshooting Steps

Idea

1. Perform Voltage Test (Critical First Step)

Disconnect the batteries completely

Measure voltage on battery leads (controller/PSU side)

Expected: ~27V DC

If ~27V: Replace batteries

If low/no voltage: Check PSU/controller

2. For New Installations

Charge for at least 45 minutes

Retry limit setup

3. For Existing Installations

Replace batteries if older than 1 year

If the issue persists: test the controller and PSU

4. Standard Checks

Confirm 220V AC input

Verify PSU connection

Check battery connections

Inspect for corrosion

Quote
Always test the voltage on the battery leads first (with batteries disconnected). If the reading is around 27V DC, the issue is most likely the batteries. If not, further investigation into the PSU or controller is required.
