How to Time-Bar your onboard Nova Remote on your Smart motor - Video Tutorial
Why Time-Bar a Remote?
Time-barring a remote allows you to control exactly when it can be used. This enhances security, prevents unauthorized access outside of approved times, and is ideal for managing staff, contractors, tenants, or visitors. By setting specific operating hours, you reduce misuse and ensure the remote only works when you want it to. This guide will walk you through the steps to timebar your onboard Nova remotes on Sliding SMART gate motors.

Steps: to create a time period under Chronoguard to time-bar remotes:
1. Access Configuration
- From the main home screen, tap on the Configure circle at the bottom of the screen.
- Select Settings.
2. Open Chronoguard
- From the drop-down list, tap and select Chronoguard.
- Choose Recurring if you want this setting to apply every day, or Once Off if you only need it to apply once.
- In this example, we will select Recurring.
3. Set Time Window
- Select the Start Day, then set the Start Hour and Minute for when access should begin.
- Select the End Day and set the End Time for when access should stop.
- Example: The remote will work from 07:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday, with no access on weekends since weekends were not selected.
4. Invert Window Setting
- Leave Invert Window set to Off. This ensures the selected times are the only times the remote will have access.
- If On is selected, the access would work in the opposite way (outside of your selected times).
5. Confirm Time Window
- Tap Next to view a summary of your setup.
- You can name your time window for easy identification.
- Once you are satisfied, press Confirm and Finish.
- Your time window has now been successfully created.
6. Save and Add Remotes
- Return to the main page using the back arrow to ensure your settings are saved.
- Tap on Remotes at the bottom of the page.
- Select the button(s) you wish to program and assign the required function.
7. Tap Next.
- Link Time Window to Remote
- Scroll down to Chronoguard and select the time period you created.
- Tap Next, then press the remote button you want to program when prompted by the app.
- Name your remote for easy identification.
8. Final Save
- Tap Next and Done.
- Return to the home screen using the arrows at the top of the page to save your settings.
- Your remote is now successfully time-barred.
