How to setup the limits on a R3/R5 Swing gate motor

If you wish to setup the limits on a new or existing R3/R5 gate motor, kindly follow the steps supplied below:

Step 1 -  Set the gate origin: 

• Release the manual override by screwing the manual release mechanism fully clockwise and close the gate(s):

• Use origin tool and line up marks:

• Open gate ½ way, pull off the origin tool and unscrew the manual release mechanism.

Step 2 -  Get into programming mode: 

• Remove all power.

• Fit the SET link.

• Reapply power. 

The SET and L2 LED will come on indicating that you have entered the programming mode. 

Step 3 - Select master or slave set-up: 

•  Press and hold TEST button, release after 1 flash on L1 to invoke the limits menu.  L1 will flash once per second 

•  To select master gate limits, Press and hold TEST button, release after 1 flash on the status LED.

• To select slave limits, Press and hold TEST button, release after 2 flashes on the status LED.

Step 4 -  Set the gate limits:

• Press and hold TEST button, the motor will start to turn, keep on holding the test button until the gearbox is engaged automatically and the gate is closed, release test button when the gate is closed.

• Press and hold TEST button until gate is open, release the test button.

• Press and release TEST button. (The MASTER gate will close and open to pedestrian. The SLAVE gate will close slightly).

Step 5  -  Exit programming mode:

• Exit programming mode by removing the SET link. Store the link by pushing it over one of the

two pins.
