How to Replace a CP80 Controller on a D3 or D5 Gate Motor

If you're looking to replace a CP80 controller on your or D5 sliding gate motor, it’s important to note that this isn’t a simple swap-out. The CP80 controller is no longer supported, and to upgrade your system, you’ll need to install a complete upgrade kit that includes both the controller and other compatible components.

⚠️ Compatibility Check – Gearbox Type

Before purchasing the upgrade kit, please check the gearbox of your motor. If your D5 is fitted with bevel gears instead of a DOSS (Disk-On-Spindle System) gearbox, unfortunately, the upgrade is not possible. The newer controllers are not compatible with bevel gear systems.

If you're unsure whether your gate motor is fitted with bevel gears or a DOSS (Disk-On-Spindle System) gearbox, you have two options to confirm:

📸 Option 1: Send Us a Photo

Simply send a clear photo of your gearbox to our technical support team on WhatsApp. Our Technical Gurus will assist you in identifying the gearbox type.

👀 Option 2: Physical Inspection

You can also physically inspect your gate motor. Look for the DOSS cylinder, which should be located in this position:

If the cylinder is not present, your motor is likely using a bevel gear system, and unfortunately, it cannot be upgraded with the new controller.

✅ Required Upgrade Kit Components

If your gearbox is compatible (DOSS type), you’ll need the following components to complete the upgrade:

  1.  EVO Controller (PCB)

  2. Internal Red Motor:

  3. Magnet switcher (For position control with the EVO board)

  4. DOSS sensor and harness:

  5. Green cover(Updated wiring harness compatible with the new PCB)

  6. Controller holder (If required, depending on your current enclosure):

🛠️Installation Steps:

1. Remove all old components:
Start by carefully removing all existing internal components from the gearbox.

2. Install the new red motor:
Replace the old motor with the new red internal motor provided in your upgrade kit.

3. Fit the controller holder:
Mount the controller holder onto the motor and secure it using the clips supplied.

4. Mount and connect the controller:
Place the new controller onto the holder and connect the motor wires to the controller.

5. Connect DOSS and MagSwitch:
Finally, plug in the new DOSS and MagSwitch units to the controller and gearbox.
