How to Program a Nova Remote for the Holiday Lock Function on an SDO4 Garage Operator

The holiday lock function on the SDO4 is ideal for when you are going on vacation or will be away from home for an extended period. Activating the holiday lock adds an extra layer of security, reducing the risk of unauthorized access via remote controls.

Programming:

  1. Enter Programming Mode:

    • Momentarily press the Learn button.
    • The LED display will show “00” to confirm that you are in the programming menu (00 will be displayed if the memory is blank). If there are remotes learned, it will show the number of remotes learned.
  2. Select Holiday Lock Function:

    • Scroll using the ‘+’ and ‘-’ buttons until "ho" is displayed:

  1. Learn Transmitter Button:

    • When the ho function is shown, press and hold the transmitter button for approximately 5 seconds.
    • The courtesy light will stop flashing to indicate a valid RF signal is being received.
    • The courtesy light will flash and the buzzer will beep accordingly to indicate a successful learn.

Operation:

  1. Engage Holiday Lockout Mode:

    • Press the button learned for this function for three seconds to engage Holiday Lockout Mode.
    • The courtesy light will emit a single flash and the onboard buzzer will emit a single beep to indicate that the mode is engaged.
  2. Disengage Holiday Lockout Mode:

    • Press any button on any transmitter that has been learned for Holiday Lockout.
    • The courtesy light will flash twice and the buzzer will beep twice to indicate that the mode is disengaged.
