How to Select the Correct Photos for the CTSI Photo Upload Process - Sliding SMART Operator

The video below will guide you through the required photographs when installing an Sliding SMART operator. You will learn which photos to upload, what each photo must show, and the approval criteria you need to meet:

Step 1: Information to Provide

Before uploading, make sure you have the following details ready:

  1. The serial number on the back of the SMART controller.

  2. The date of installation.

Once you have this information, you can move on to the required photos.


Step 2: First Photo – Full Gate View

Your first photo must be a full landscape photo of the gate in the closed position, including the SMART Sliding Operator.

In this photo, the following must be clearly visible:

  • The open and closed end-stops

  • The guide rollers

  • The wheels and rail

⚠️ Important: If any of these components are not visible in the full photo, you must upload an additional close-up photo. This is most commonly required for the open end-stop.

Approval Criteria:

  • End-stops must be more than 50% larger than the wheels, immovable, and securely fixed.

  • Guide rollers must be correctly spaced and free from damage or wear.

  • Wheels and rail must be in good condition and properly aligned.


Step 3: Second Photo – Rack and Pinion

The next required photo is a clear image of the rack and pinion meshing.
This photo can be taken from the side, back, or front.

Approval Criteria:

  • There must be a 3 mm tooth gap between the rack and pinion.

πŸ’‘ Pro tip: If it’s difficult to capture the gap, remove the batteries and take the photo from the side.


Step 4: Final Photo – Wiring

The last photo required is a top or side view of the SMART Sliding Operator with the cover removed.
This photo must clearly show the wiring layout.

Approval Criteria:

  • Wiring must be neat and organized.

  • No loose cables should be visible.

  • All cables in use must be properly secured in the wiring blocks.
