How to Troubleshoot a CP80 D5 or D3 Gate Motor When the Gate Does Not Run But the Relay Energise
When you activate the gate motor via a remote or any trigger device, and the relays energize but the gate does not move, please refer to the possible causes and solutions below:
Possible Causes:
- Faulty motor circuit
- Faulty motor relay / FET
- Motor fuse blown
- Fuse holder making bad contact
- Worn motor brushes
- Loose motor wire
- Faulty controller
Possible Solutions (On-Site Checks):
Motor Fuse:
- Confirm that the motor fuse still has continuity.
- If the fuse is blown, replace it with a 16/20A slow blow (5x20mm).
- Ensure the fuse is making good contact in the fuse holder.
Motor Wires:
- Check that the motor wires are securely connected to the PC board.
Further Action:
- If all the above checks are in order, take the motor to your nearest CENTURION branch for testing and possible repairs.
