Can a Stolen Smart Motor Be Traced, Tracked or Blocked?

Can Centurion Systems trace, track, or block a stolen Smart motor?

Notes

Summary:

Unfortunately, Centurion Systems cannot trace, track, or remotely block a stolen Smart motor. While the motor can communicate with the CENTURION Smart platform, it does not have GPS or another location-tracking feature that allows us to determine where the motor is if it is removed from the property.

Info
  • Smart motors use the Smart connection for features such as remote access, monitoring, and control.
  • The Smart motor does not have GPS or location tracking, so we cannot determine its physical location once it has been removed from the property.
  • We also cannot remotely disable or block a motor if it has been stolen.
  • If a Smart motor is stolen, we recommend reporting the theft to SAPS and providing the motor's serial number and any other relevant information that may assist with recovering the unit.
  • In short: The Smart connection allows us to communicate with the motor, but it does not allow us to locate or disable it if it has been stolen.
